Privacy Notice
When you use Measure-PD.com, here is what the site gathers. The short version: your photo is never collected, and nothing that reveals who you are gets collected.
Who Is Responsible?
This site is run by OptiSpan Vision Inc., 2100 Powers Ferry Road SE, Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30339, United States, which also decides how its data is used.
Information We Never Gather
When you take or pick a photo for the measurement, it is processed only within your browser. We do not upload, save or share them. Your name, email address, phone number and prescription are not requested, and no forms or accounts exist on the site.
Information We Do Gather
When you request a page, our server logs the usual details: the page name, the time of your visit, your IP address and your browser. For four events, our own script also sends brief anonymous notes to our own server: when a page is viewed, when someone stays on a page longer, when a click leads to another site and when a tool returns a result. Each note contains the tool name, the page address, the site you came from and whether the screen is the size of a phone. No measurement value is held in it.
This site runs no scripts from outside analytics, advertising or social media services.
What Is Stored on Your Device?
The ruler you see on screen stores the scale you have chosen in your browser's local storage under mpd.scr, so you will not have to enter it again. Your browser settings let you clear it, and it never goes beyond your device. No cookies are used by the site.
Why Do We Use It, and for How Long?
These logs and notes serve three purposes: running the site, stopping abuse and showing which pages help users. We retain server logs only for as long as those purposes call for, and we keep anonymous notes only as totals.
Sharing
We do not sell or share any personal information. The server logs are processed for us by our hosting provider under contract. We only hand over information when the law says we must.
Rights You Have
Your location can shape your rights. In places that include California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, the UK, the EU, Australia and Canada, you have these choices. You may ask to correct, delete, know or access personal information about you, and may also ask that we not sell or share it. Because we keep no names or contact details, matching a log works only with an IP address and a time. Use the postal address above to reach us. Within 45 days you will get an answer from us, and asking will never affect how we treat you.
Children
Children under 13 are not the audience for this site, and nothing that identifies them is collected. A parent who wants to measure a child's PD may use the site for that.
Changes
This page is replaced by the new version whenever the notice gets changed.
